The archipelago is 27 km end to end, so nothing here is far. What decides the day is the sea state and the hour you leave. A skipper reads both on the morning and reorders the run without being asked.

Every charter leaves from one of these. The berth matters more than people expect: the Blue Lagoon is fifteen minutes from Mġarr on Gozo and closer to ninety from Sliema, for the same boat and the same money.

The working marina. Liveaboards, sail charter, and the shortest run out to Marsamxett.

Embassy row on the water. Catamarans and mid-size motor yachts berth here.

Gzira side of the creek, under the fort. Quiet boarding, five minutes from Sliema ferries.

St Julian's. The deep-water berths, and where most of the flybridge fleet sits.

Vittoriosa, inside the bastions. Boarding here is worth the trip on its own.

The busiest departure point on the island and the fastest run to Comino.

Gozo side. Start here and the Blue Lagoon is fifteen minutes away, not ninety.

Under the Valletta walls, opposite Sliema.

The fishing village. Luzzus, the Sunday market, and the south-east coast.

North. Self-drive country, and the closest launch to Golden Bay.

A licence register, an insurance certificate and a berth you can walk to exist in every charter market on this sea. Malta is small enough to check every operator in person, which is why it goes first. The checks travel.
