Booking

04 QUESTIONS
Is my booking confirmed straight away?

It depends on the boat. Anything marked Instant book confirms the moment you pay. Anything marked Request to book goes to the operator, who confirms or declines. Most reply within an hour, and the time each one takes is printed on their profile. You are not charged until they accept.

How far ahead should I book?

In July and August, two to four weeks for a weekend and two or three days midweek. In May, June, September and October a couple of days is usually enough. Jet skis and paddleboards can normally be booked on the day.

Can I book for today?

Often, yes. The search defaults to showing what is actually free on the date you pick, so if a boat appears with Today against it, that slot is open right now.

What is the minimum booking?

Thirty minutes for a jet ski or a paddleboard, two and a half hours for a sunset cruise, four hours for a half day charter. There is no minimum number of guests on a private boat.

Money

05 QUESTIONS
When am I charged?

Your card is authorised when the operator accepts. The money is held and released to them on the morning of departure, not before. If the charter does not happen, it does not leave your account.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 72 hours before departure, refunded in full. Inside 72 hours the operator sets the terms, and they are printed on the boat page before you book.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the skipper cancels for wind or sea state you are refunded in full, or moved to the next open date at the same price. Never rebooked at a higher one. Malta loses about four charter days a season this way.

Is there a security deposit?

No. We do not take one, on any boat, at any size. You pay for the charter and nothing else is held or authorised against your card. Where a boat is damaged through misuse the operator’s own terms and their insurance apply, and any claim has to be evidenced.

Are there fees on top of the price?

No. Our 10% is already inside the price you see. The only things that can be added are fuel where the listing says fuel extra or metered, and anything you agree with the operator on the day.

On the water

06 QUESTIONS
Do I need a licence?

For most self-drive hires in Malta, no. Boats that need one are marked Self-drive · licence and will not confirm without a copy of your certificate. Everything marked Skippered or Crewed comes with someone who holds the licence.

What is the difference between skippered and crewed?

Skippered means one professional aboard, driving. Crewed means a skipper plus at least one deckhand or host, which is standard on flybridge boats and above.

Can I choose where the boat goes?

On a private charter, yes, within what the sea state allows. Most skippers will suggest a route and adapt it. Shared tours follow a fixed itinerary.

Is fuel included?

It is printed on every card. Included means the quote is the quote. Metered means you settle what you burned on return. Extra means you refill before handing the boat back.

Can I bring children?

Yes, and several boats carry child protection nets, which is noted in their features. Children usually count towards the guest total. Tell the operator ages when you book so they bring the right life jackets.

Can we bring food and drink?

On almost every private charter, yes. Some crewed boats include catering. Glass is discouraged on deck for obvious reasons.

Trust and safety

03 QUESTIONS
How do you check operators?

Every commercial operator has their Transport Malta licence checked against the register before their boats go live, their berth and VAT number confirmed in person at the marina, and third-party insurance of at least €5m verified. The licence number is printed on each boat page.

Are the reviews real?

Only a guest who completed a charter can leave one, and the name and date are always shown. We do not remove negative reviews.

What if something goes wrong on the day?

Message the operator through the booking first, they are the fastest route. If it is not resolved, contact us and we hold the payment until it is, because the money has not reached them yet.

Listing your boat

04 QUESTIONS
What does it cost to list?

Nothing to list. We take 10% of each confirmed booking and handle the booking, the payments and the paperwork. No subscription, no listing fee.

What do I need to list?

A valid Transport Malta commercial licence, third-party insurance of at least €5m, and a berth we can visit. Listing takes about fifteen minutes.

When do I get paid?

The morning of departure, once the charter is confirmed to be going ahead.

Do I have to accept every request?

No. You can decline, and you set your own calendar, minimum durations and cancellation terms. You can also switch any boat to instant book if you would rather not field requests.

Still stuck?

The operator knows the boat better than we do.

Every listing has a message thread attached to it, and most operators answer inside the hour. Anything about the platform, the payment or a booking that has gone sideways comes to us instead.
